EMC Insurance now owned by Employers Mutual Casualty Co, was founded in 1911 with John Gunn at its helm, in Des Moines Iowa, where they still maintain their headquarters.
At its inception they only offered four lines: manufacturers, employers, auto and contractor insurance.
Over the 100 years that have passed EMC has assured themselves of a prominent place in the insurance and financial industry.

They currently service 40 states and are publically traded.

Not much is available in terms of ‘how claims are handled’ – but for a company to receive such praise from Forbes, we must assume they are professional and trustworthy.
